Announcing #truManchester

July 5, 2010

The Recruiting Unconference  (#Tru) comes to Manchester on the 8’th and 9’th September. If you are unfamiliar with what an unconference is you can read more about how the event is structured in the About #truManchester page.

Feedback from past events tells us that if you have not attended one of the previous events, it will be unlike any event you will have been to before. It is all about the networking and the conversation, with attendees descending on Manchester from around the world.

This is our 5’th event in less than a year, and we are learning from each one. (It has been a pretty steep learning curve!). For #tru veterans we have made a few changes that we believe will only add to the event.

Firstly we are restricting attendance to 100 to keep the tracks smaller with more opportunity for conversation.

Secondly we have taken out the lunches. Experience tells us that you would rather lunch in groups or network over coffee. The new price reflects this. We will be closing down between 12.30 and 1.30 each day for you to do this. Coffee will be available all day in a room set aside purely for networking.

We have reduced the price of tickets to £100.00. At £100 for 2 days, we think you will be hard pushed to find better value anywhere. With this low price point, early booking is advised, bearing in mind that there are only 100 tickets on sale. You can book your tickets here on the site.

The main tracks have been announced on the track list on this site. We will be adding another 15 tracks as requested or suggested by the attendees. You can add tracks that you want in the comments section of the #truManchester tracks page on this site.

Each track will run for 1 hour. At the end of each track session, the next tracks will be announced in the networking room. Any attendee can announce a secret track at this time, and you will be free to join the track leader you choose.

We think that this new format will make things work really well, and hope to see you in Manchester.
